Bowling Green, KY Says Farewell to a Beloved Community Member
It is with heavy hearts that the community of Bowling Green, Kentucky, bids farewell to Carolyn J. Cuyler, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky. She was 82 years young and cherished by all who knew her.
A Life Well-Lived
Carolyn, born on February 2, 1942, in Beloit, Wisconsin, was the daughter of the late James and Jean Miller. Growing up, Carolyn was known for her vibrant spirit and love for life. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1960, where she likely made friendships that would last a lifetime.
In 1987, Carolyn married her devoted husband, Roy Cuyler. Together, they cultivated a beautiful family and shared a life filled with love and laughter. Carolyn lived most of her life in Janesville before making the move to Bowling Green a few years ago, primarily to be closer to her son Patrick, who resided in Kentucky.
A Passion for Beauty
Professionally, Carolyn was a talented licensed beautician. For many years, she worked her magic at Mam’Selle Salon, where her specialty was nails. Her clients adored her not only for her skills but for the warmth and friendliness she brought to every appointment. It was more than just a job for Carolyn; it was a chance to connect with others and brighten their days.
Family First
Above all else, Carolyn was a true family woman. She showed her love through cooking delicious meals for her family, proving that the way to a heart really is through the stomach! Carolyn had two beloved sons: Patrick (Diane) Klein of Bowling Green, KY, and Peter (Katherine) Klein of Beloit, WI. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Lyndsey (Taylor) Magnuson, Nathaniel Klein, Brian Klein, Demi Klein, and Adam Klein. Family gatherings were vibrant occasions filled with laughter, stories, and the unmistakable love that Carolyn instilled in her family.
Carolyn also had a close-knit relationship with her sister, Jan Gruetzman, and her brother, James Miller. Although Carolyn is now preceded in death by her husband Roy, her grandson Colin Klein, her brother-in-law Paul Gruetzman, and her sister-in-law Barbara Miller, her legacy of love and strength will live on through her family and friends.
Forever in Our Hearts
In accordance with Carolyn’s wishes, her family has entrusted J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with her arrangements. She wanted to be cremated, and services will be private, allowing her loved ones to remember her in their own personal way.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to your local Humane Society in her memory. Carolyn’s love for animals was well-known, and this gesture would surely honor her compassionate spirit.
Community Remembers
As friends and family reflect on the precious memories they shared with Carolyn, one thing is abundantly clear: she made the world a brighter place. Her laughter, culinary creations, and unwavering love for her family will be sorely missed. Bowling Green has lost a shining star, but her spirit will continue to inspire all of us who had the privilege of knowing her.
