Once everyone was fueled up, participants donned their warmest layers and set off on a march from the Warren County Justice Center to the State Street Baptist Church. This annual march witnessed a beautiful display of unity, as people from various races, colors, and ages joined forces. This reverence continued as the community took a moment to honor two significant local figures—Dr. Abraham Williams and Wathetta Buford—who were posthumously recognized with the 2025 Humanitarian Award. Their contributions to the community were commended; Dr. Williams for his advocacy for children living in poverty through the Bowling Green Housing Authority, and Wathetta Buford for her work in co-founding the African American Museum and her leadership in various community roles.
