A Bowling Green Man Gets Charged with Resisting Arrest in Allen County

A incident that occurred in Allen County, Kentucky, is making headlines as a Bowling Green man faces criminal charges related to alleged drunk driving and resisting arrest over the weekend.

The Incident and Initial Response

Investigating authorities received a DUI complaint concerning a vehicle entering Allen County from Warren County. The responding unit was the Kentucky State Police Post 3. According to the complaint, the man, Zackary Sibalich, 29, directed his vehicle towards Friendship Church Road in Allen County using route 234.

Authorities added a distressing element to the case, suggesting that Sibalich had made a threat of shooting at law enforcement officials if they attempted to intervene. Notably, upon sighting Sibalich’s car, he allegedly pushed the trooper off the road, an additional troubling facet to the unfolding incident.

Confrontation and Arrest

Following their ongoing investigation, the Troopers discovered the hideout of the suspect behind a resident on Cemetery Road in Allen County. As they attempted to arrest him, Sibalich put up a fight, openly resisting arrest.

But despite his resistance, the troopers overcame his defiance and took him into custody. Police reports indicate the discovery of two loaded firearms and two bottles of alcoholic beverages in his vehicle, in a alarming revelation, lending credibility to the alleged threat of shooting.

Charges and Transport to Detention Center

After the arrest, the authorities undertook a medical check-up of the suspect at the Med Center to ensure his wellness before transport. Once medically cleared, the law enforcement officers transferred Sibalich to the Allen County Detention Center.

The authorities have listed multiple charges against the suspect. These include reckless driving and second-degree endangerment, showing wanton disregard for safety. Additionally, Sibalich is also being charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, marking his third such offense, this time with aggravating circumstances.

Most notably, the charge of resisting arrest has been leveled against the Bowling Green man. The combination of these charges paints a grim image of public safety risk in need of immediate legal response.
