According to the arrest citation, officers discovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, paraphernalia related to drug use, and several knives during the search. Spears reportedly confessed to finding the handgun next to a dumpster and admitted that he possessed methamphetamine.

Spears was already a prime suspect concerning a series of vehicle break-ins which occurred on October 3. When questioned about these incidents, he told police that he “didn’t know” where the vehicles were and suggested that they “may have been taken.” This added to the complexity of the case against him.

After his arrest, Spears was taken to the Warren County Regional Jail, where he is facing a long list of charges. These include:
