Bowling Green, Ky. – Hunting Season Preparations Underway

As the season for hunting approaches, many in Kentucky are getting ready to hit the woods. The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife has opened applications for quota hunts, inviting enthusiastic hunters to secure their spots for the upcoming season. The deadline for applications is September 30, so would-be hunters need to act quickly if they want to participate.

minimum fee set at $3 per application. This is a small price to pay for the chance to hunt in some of Kentucky’s most scenic areas. The department is offering a total of 37 deer quota hunts across various wildlife management areas and state parks, providing a wide range of options.

In addition to deer hunts, hunters can also apply for waterfowl quota hunts, available at five public land locations. This is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy waterfowl hunting. For those interested in upland game, there are also pheasant hunts offered at three wildlife management areas, giving hunters a chance to pursue these popular game birds.
