Bowling Green Welcomes Moms for a Special Baseball Game on Mother’s Day

Bowling Green, KY – This Mother’s Day, the usual tradition of flowers and brunch was replaced with a more fun-filled and exciting event. Families came to enjoy a unique, baseball-themed celebration at the Bowling Green Ballpark. They gathered at the Bowling Green Hot Rods Mother’s Day Game, where mothers were treated to free tickets and bundles of fresh flowers. And for added cheer, children were given the chance to create handmade Mother’s Day cards at a special booth.

Kids Express Their Love

During the jovial sporting event, youth attendees volunteered heartwarming comments about their mothers. Ellie Rue shared, “She’s very fun to talk to and nice. She’s also very easy to talk to, I like talking to her and being around her.” and Kadoh Hodak added, “My mom is awesome and she buys me a lot of toys. She gives me lots of kisses.”

The children not only shared their love for their mothers but also reflected on the life lessons they have learned from their moms. “I’ll probably be a keynote speaker on stage like she is,” said Hodak. “I’m going to teach my kids to always be the best person they can be, to always be nice to other people, and to always do their best to help like my mom has taught me to do.”

Moms Share Their Wisdom

Mothers present in the crowd also shared insights they gleaned from their mothers. Mother of two, Mindy Rue said, “I show up, I’m there, I’m involved and take on leadership roles. My mom did that, she was always there. She was always my biggest cheerleader, and that’s what I want my kids to know.” Nicole Hanelers, also a mother of two, echoed these sentiments, sharing, “She taught me how to be kind and how to treat others with respect, no matter the differences of the other people.”

First-Time Moms Receive Encouragement

The event also centred around first-time mothers celebrating their very first Mother’s Day. Some experienced moms shared their advice with them. “No matter how hard it gets, there’s a reward at the end, and it’s watching them get older and doing new things, becoming more independent,” said Hanelers.

Rue highlighted the challenges of parenthood, expressing, “I think the hardest part of being a mom is not fixing everything for your kids and letting them feel that failure, so that they can understand how to rebound from that.” Mom of one Briannah Roland advised new moms, saying, “Time goes by so fast. I remember when he was an infant and now he’s two. Take every moment you can to just love them.”

A New Tradition To Celebrate Love and Bonds

Events like the Bowling Green Hot Rods Mother’s Day Game broaden the scope of celebrating Mother’s Day, fusing a fun-filled sports event with deep sentiments and strong familial bonds. Truly, the celebration of parenthood needs no boundaries. More information about similar thematic baseball games can be found on the Bowling Green Hot Rods’ website.
