Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society Granted $200,000 by Petco Love

June 3, 2024 — Bowling Green, Kentucky: A Major Boost for Animal Welfare

In a major boost for animal welfare, the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society (BGWCHS) has happily announced that they are set to receive a $200,000 grant. This generous investment comes from the national nonprofit organization, Petco Love, which has demonstrated its commitment to the cause by investing over $375 million in adoption and other life-saving efforts across the nation.

Continued Support for Local Initiatives

The Humane Society has designated the investment grant for the enhancement and continuation of their existing initiatives. These programs include the Community Cat program, their spay/neuter operations and community outreach efforts. In a press release, BGWCHS expressed its gratitude for the grant and acknowledged the significant impact that such an investment will have on their life-saving endeavors.

Director of BGWCHS, Lorri Hare, highlighted the significance of the grant in maintaining the ongoing efforts, saying, “We are so incredibly blessed to have been selected for the Petco Love grant again this year.” Adding further, she claimed, “This grant will allow us to continue our life-saving efforts through our Community Cat program, our spay/neuter program and our community outreach. The impact of the Petco Love grants we’ve received over the years is immeasurable, and this grant will continue that life-saving legacy.”

Incremental Milestones for BGWCHS

In recognition of receiving the grant, the shelter is all set to host a celebratory event this Wednesday, where they will publicly accept the donation check. The BGWCHS has been incessantly working towards providing compassionate care and shelter to animals while striving for finding them permanent and loving homes. Financial support like this plays a critical role in bolstering their mission and intensifying the services they can provide to animals in need.

Through their many cherished programs, the BGWCHS aims to promote responsible pet ownership, prevent animal cruelty, and most importantly, to reduce pet overpopulation. The timely arrival of this substantial grant is expected to fortify their endeavors as they continue their esteemed work for a compassionate and humane community.

The Petco Love grant is a testimony to the tireless efforts made by the BGWCHS and serves as a beacon of peace and hope for all the beautiful creatures they shelter. It is community spirit, partnered with support like this, that makes a substantial difference in the lives of animals, and every contribution, big or small, goes a long way in ensuring their protection and welfare.
