Bowling Green Hosts Winsome Kiddie Art Contest for BGMU’s Calendar

Bowling Green Hosts Winsome Kiddie Art Contest for BGMU’s Calendar

It’s a bright day in Bowling Green, Kentucky, as children with minds abuzz are readying their crayons and markers. Why? Because Bowling Green Municipal Utilities (BGMU) wants to make their annual calendar colorful and catchy with the magic of junior artists!

You heard it right! BGMU is hosting an art contest. This isn’t just an ordinary competition – it’s the chance for talented kiddos, from age 5 to 15, to craft a fabulous piece of creativity and have their work published in the utility’s upcoming calendar. Imagine the prestige – young artists from Warren County featuring in the widely circulated BGMU calendar!

A Theme Close to Heart

The lively themes for this year are: “How I Use Power” and “Water is Life“. It’s a golden opportunity for artistic munchkins to let their imagination run wild and demonstrate their understanding of these essential utilities in a playful and engaging manner.

It’s simple enough, the artworks need to be on paper sized eight and a half by eleven inches, turned horizontally. This size works best for the calendar format and ensures the teacher’s fridge isn’t the only place their art will be seen!

Be Quick! The Contest Dates are Knocking at the door!

Aspiring artists better get cracking. The last date for submission is October 1st. The wait won’t be long after that, as the 13 lucky winners will be announced just a few days later, on October 5th. The chosen artworks will brightly illuminate every month of the BGMU’s 2023 calendar.

How to Submit Entries?

Excited about participating? Fantastic! There are various ways to submit the artwork. It can be turned in via email or through mail. Or one can drop it off in person at the BGMU’s office. Remember, your artist in residence has got to live in Warren County.

Why This Contest Matters?

By arranging such a delightful contest, BGMU is giving youngsters the platform to showcase their talent and understand the importance of utilities like power and water at the same time. While the winners get a fabulous moment in the sun, the contest brings the focus on kids’ points of view on essential topics.

Until Then…

So, kiddos of Warren County, pick up your crayons, and let the power of your imagination color the year ahead through the BGMU calendar. Bowling Green can’t wait to see your talent shine through in the heart of every household!
