Third Annual April Fest Kicks Off

Warren County Parks and Recreation held their third annual April Fest this Saturday at Ephram-White park with zeal and anticipation to top their previous year’s festivities. The department joined forces with the Warren County Public Library to welcome spring by organising a plethora of activities.

From a petting zoo and balloon animals to kite-flying and bouncy houses, April Fest had fun-fillers for everyone. Their festivities, however, did not stop there. An added perk of the festival was the presence of food trucks, music, and special appearances from characters like Bluey.

April Fest is not just another ‘fun and games’ festivity but also serves as a window to the upcoming spring events at the park including baseball, softball, and other activities.

Expectations from April Fest

“We are excited for good weather, so we want to invite you into our parks to enjoy them, whether it’s a big event like this or just day to day,” said Catrice Turner, Program Coordinator for April Fest.

Taking lessons from the past two years, the department is geared up to put on a grand show. Turner expressed the anticipation with sheer satisfaction, “The very first year we did it, we had about 150 people. Last year, we had probably 3,000 people. So this year, we’re really prepared,” said Turner. ”

The department is also exploring possibilities of partnerships to add more activities for attendees, especially the children.

The Essence of April Fest

The atmosphere of the park was brimming with laughter and joy as children scurried from one activity to the other. Bubbles floated through the park, symbolizing the cheerful spirit of the fest.

And while the department has organized a fun-filled event, its essence lies in the satisfaction of families enjoying themselves. Turner said, “Our goal is to improve their quality of life. As long as families are out there participating, we’ve done our job, and we are satisfied with that.”

The grandeur of the Third Annual April Fest thus marks a delightful beginning of the spring season, setting a promising tone for the upcoming events at the park.
