BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Dream Realized for Alex Miller

Alex Miller’s journey from a small-town boy in Lancaster, Kentucky to a rising star in the country music scene has been nothing short of remarkable. Back in 2021, during his audition for American Idol, Miller joked with judge Blake Shelton about his dreams of performing at the Grand Ole Opry, saying, “Oo I don’t know, man, I’d die and go to heaven.” Fast forward to today, Miller is living proof that dreams do come true.

New Music Video Filming in Kentucky

Recently, Miller spent a week in his home state, filming the music video for his latest song, “She Makes Dirt Look Good”. Two days of the shoot took place at Wright Implement, an agriculture dealership in Bowling Green. In the video, his fictional love interest, portrayed by Nashville actress Ayla Demirci, is shown working in the dealership.

“If you’re not a farmer and you don’t come from a farm, my music is just country music,” Miller explained. “I don’t try to hide it; I’m just being myself. If you’re that person, you’ll connect with my music. It’s good, fun country music, with a mix of songs that will make you think.”

The previous day, filming was held at a picturesque farm in Hodgenville, featuring stunning aerial views captured by drone. Director Steve Kinney praised Wright Implement for their support in achieving a realistic agricultural backdrop. “We aimed to stay true to agricultural accuracy during filming,” Kinney said.

A Strong Working Relationship

Miller and Kinney have a continued partnership. Kinney commented, “Alex is one of the most professional people I work with, and every collaboration is a chance to create something fresh and exciting.”

Musical Roots and Recognition

The passion for music has always been a part of Miller’s life. He started singing and playing instruments at just three years old. Growing up as a farmhand for his grandfather, Miller described the past few years as “crazy” since he transitioned to a full-time music career. The pandemic initially forced him to miss many performing opportunities, leading his mother to sign him up for Season 19 of American Idol when he was just 17.

His experience on the show was impressive. “I got to work with great judges like Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan,” he shared. After a successful run, Miller made it to Showstoppers Week, which is just before the Top 24. However, he faced a challenge when asked to perform pop music instead of sticking with his country roots. “That ultimately is what got me cut from the show because I’m a country singer, and I was going to stick to my guns.”

Advice from a Music Legend

Even with the setbacks, Miller continued to pursue his dream. He toured across the United States, and he carries wisdom from legendary musician Hank Williams Jr.. “He said never take criticism from someone you wouldn’t take advice from. Those are words I live by,” Miller shared. He also emphasized the importance of individuality in music, stating, “You need to do what’s special to you. I don’t hide my hillbilly ways, and I think that’s part of why I’ve come so far.”

Looking Ahead

Fans are eager for the release of Miller’s upcoming music video, which is set to debut in mid-October. For updates, the singer can be followed on social media platforms like Spotify, Facebook, and TikTok, or you can visit his official website at alexmillercountry.com.
