Bowling Green, KY – The community of Warren County is mourning the loss of a cherished artisan, Stephen “Woody” Woodcock, who passed away on October 30, 2024, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. A beloved local figure, Woody’s legacy as a skilled craftsman and a dedicated family man will long be remembered.

Early Life and Family

Woody was born on September 5, 1971, to Priscilla Woodcock and the late Earl Bishop, who embraced Woody as his own. Growing up in Warren County, he was deeply rooted in his community. He shared a profound bond with his family, which extended to his loving wife, Tracey Ranes Woodcock, who survives him. Together, they created a loving home filled with warmth.

Woody’s family includes his children: Cole Cowles of Smiths Grove, Bradly Woodcock of Smiths Grove, Mitch Pearson (Jenny) of Bowling Green, Austin Ranes of Brownsville, Saliya Kieffer of Bowling Green, and Isabella Woodcock of Brownsville. He also had step-children, Jody Shephard and Jeffery Bishop, both of Smiths Grove, as well as three grandchildren: Serenity Cowles, Brantley Cowles, and Savannah Cowles.

In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his siblings Chip Rich and Lisa Rich, as well as several nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Craftsmanship Legacy

Woody was the proud owner and operator of his own business, Precision Blasting. He was not just a business owner but also an exceptionally talented sand blaster who poured his heart into enhancing and preserving veterans’ walls and memorials around various counties. His work served as a tribute to the heroes who served their country, reflecting his deep commitment to honoring their sacrifices and memories.

Woody learned the art of sandblasting from his beloved stepfather, Earl. He took great pride in passing his skills on to his son, Cole, ensuring that his legacy would continue through future generations.

Passion for Life and Hobbies

Outside of his professional life, Woody was a multi-faceted individual with a variety of interests. He had a deep appreciation for nature and the great outdoors, enjoying activities like golfing and fishing. His zest for life and creativity was also evident in his enthusiasm for 3D printing, which allowed him to explore innovative ideas and express his artistic side.

These diverse hobbies showcased Woody’s vibrant personality and his sincere desire to connect with the world, making him shine in the lives of those around him.

Memorial Service Details

The community is invited to honor Woody’s memory. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 4 to 6 PM at the Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 6 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stephen Woodcock Memorial Fund at Patton Funeral Home, P.O. Box 326, Brownsville, KY 42210. This will help ensure that Woody’s dedication is remembered and celebrated through contributions to positive causes.
