Bowling Green Prepares for Benefit Concert to Aid Local and Hurricane Helene Victims

Bowling Green is gearing up for a big night of music and charity on November 2. A benefit concert, organized by Band Together BG, will take place at La Gala, aiming to raise funds for local charities and individuals affected by Hurricane Helene.

Community Effort at Heart

The concert is in its sixth year and has become a staple in the Bowling Green community. The founder, attorney Flora Templeton Stuart, explained that she was inspired to create this event to give back to community charities. “I’ve been involved with the community really my entire life,” Stuart said. “In my position as an attorney, I am able to fundraise to help some of our wonderful local charities.”

In past years, Band Together BG has also contributed to relief efforts for tornado victims, demonstrating a consistent commitment to giving back. This year, however, has a specific focus on the needs of those impacted by Hurricane Helene, especially residents in Asheville, North Carolina. Stuart expressed, “I know that this year, our community would want us to do an outreach for the victims of Hurricane Helene.”

Fundraising Goals and Beneficiaries

The goal for this year’s concert is ambitious, with hopes to raise around $50,000. Stuart confirmed that all proceeds will be split evenly between supporting those in North Carolina and aiding local charities, which include Kids on the Block, Toys for Tots, Veterans Brigade, Kiwanis Club of BG, and Refugee BG, among others. This promise underscores the concert’s dual mission—both local support and broader outreach for those in serious need.

Details of the Concert

This year’s lineup features notable bands including Tyrone Dunn & Kin-Foke, The Unpredictables, and Six Gun Five. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase food and drinks at the venue while enjoying the performances.

General admission tickets are priced at $20 and are currently available online at btbg23.eventbrite.com. For those who prefer to buy tickets at the door, they will cost $30, subject to availability. For guests looking for a more private experience, table purchases can be arranged by calling (270) 782-9090.

A Proven Track Record

Since its inception in 2018, Band Together BG has successfully combined the love for rock ‘n’ roll with a deep commitment to aiding the community. This concert not only entertains but also provides critical support to those who need it most in Bowling Green and beyond.

As the date approaches, excitement builds. Local residents are encouraged to take part in this important event, donating not only through ticket purchases but also by raising awareness about the needs in the community and affected areas. This concert promises to be a powerful night that highlights the strength and unity of Bowling Green.

In a world where every little bit helps, events like Band Together BG underscore the impact citizens can make when they come together for a common cause. Openness and generosity will lead the way for a night filled with good music and greater purpose.
