CAREUSTZ Holds Men’s Empowerment Program Ceremony in Bowling Green

The non-profit organization CAREUSTZ held a celebration ceremony in Bowling Green, Kentucky this past Saturday, in recognition of refugees and immigrants who successfully completed their men’s empowerment program.

Learning and Growth Amidst Diversity

The program, which saw 40 men from diverse nationalities and language groups participating, spanned over a period of seven weeks. Throughout the course, participants received valuable training from local experts and providers. They were informed and educated in various areas, such as physical and mental health, trauma, cultural integration, and social adaptation.

This program not only allowed participants to improve their personal well-being and self-confidence, but also helped them better understand their new environment, thereby equipping them with the required skills and knowledge to integrate smoothly into American society.

Fostering Empowerment and Resilience

CAREUSTZ President Dr. William Mkanta and his team had the honor of presenting certificates to the successful participants. The pride and happiness displayed by the learners were evident in their beaming smiles as they received their well-deserved certificates.

The empowerment program is part of CAREUSTZ’s ongoing commitment to help refugees and immigrants successfully navigate their new lives in America. The aim of these initiatives is to promote cultural sensitivity and resilience, foster personal growth, and empower individuals to become productive members of society.

Succeeding Program for Women

Following the successful completion of the men’s program, an announcement was made regarding a similar training that is scheduled to kick off for women on April 15. This strategic initiative is designed to target women refugees and immigrants, and empower them with the same skills and knowledge to improve their lives and help them integrate into society as well.

The Role of the Kentucky Office for Refugees

The programs were made possible through funding and logistical support provided by the Kentucky Office for Refugees. Their work in sponsoring these initiatives is indicative of their commitment to supporting refugees and immigrants in their attempts to establish new lives, by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary for successful integration.

As the residents of Bowling Green hold their communal breath in anticipation for the women’s program slated to kick off, CAREUSTZ and the Kentucky Office for Refugees continue their diligent work in nurturing and empowering the community’s newest members.
