Founded in 1981, Betty & Tom’s Country Charm became Bowling Green Home Furnishings. Betty and Tom have been selling time-tested oak and cherry furniture since 1981. The business launched with the mission of delivering the highest-quality furniture at every price point, and it remains committed to that purpose today. Betty & Tom opened their first store just off Cemetery Road, where they stayed for eight years until moving to 830 Fairview Avenue in downtown Bowling Green, where they stayed for more than a decade.
By 2004, the company had developed to the point that the store needed to expand. Bowling Green Home Furnishings, a second site, opened in June 2004 at 1045 Lovers Lane in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They ran two storefronts from June 2004 to December 2005, with a 20,000+ square foot showroom built to the new location.
Bowling Green Home Furnishings merged the businesses in January 2006 and constructed a fresh new two-level showroom, making it one of the largest in South Central Kentucky. Despite the change in name, the store’s focus on greater quality and cheaper costs remains the same. The store was able to introduce many new products as a result of the expansion while keeping stocking those that have been popular in Bowling Green and the surrounding areas for over 30 years.
