Bowling Green, KY– Vista Metals has announced plans to invest approximately $60 million to establish a new specialty aluminum products operation in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Governor Andy Beshear delivered the good news, lauding Kentucky’s metals industry’s rapidly expanding landscape. The investment will create over 50 full-time jobs and boost the state’s economic growth, marking another milestone of industrial progress for Warren County.
Governor Beshear thanked Vista Metals for the commitment they’ve shown in Kentucky’s economy and industry. “The growth of Kentucky’s metals sector is not slowing down anytime soon. We have seen incredible investment across this industry in recent years, and Warren County has been among the leading communities for that growth,” Beshear said. Nestled on over 100 acres, the new facility would measure more than 75,000 square feet, with preparatory work already in motion for a phased build-out.
The broad array of jobs created would span operations, planning, engineering, and site management. Vista Metals CEO, Andy Primack, expressed anticipation over the plan to bring over 50 new jobs to the area. He lauded Bowling Green for its strong industrial business base, its track record of attracting qualified manufacturing talent, and the close business-education ties that will ensure the facility’s success.
Local authorities’ excitement over Vista Metals’ decision mirrored that of the company’s top brass. Warren County’s Judge-Executive, Doug Gorman, saw this as testament to the region’s attractiveness for businesses seeking strategic growth opportunities. “This expansion will not only create job opportunities but also further solidify Warren County’s position as a hub for innovation and manufacturing excellence,” Gorman said.
Kelly Thomas, president of Vista Metals, affirmed the new investment’s alignment with their commitment to the aerospace industry and the vital importance of robust supply chains. “This strategic investment will further support our customers’ growth in aerospace as OEMs look to more than double commercial aircraft build rates over the next two decades,” Thomas said, emphasizing the importance of the company’s intent to invest in ways that will enable customers to test and qualify this facility ahead of the projected growth surge.
Bowling Green Mayor, Todd Alcott, highlighted the community’s readiness to support the company’s success, emphasizing the region’s skilled workforce and robust infrastructure. He warmly welcomed Vista Metals to the business community, expressing anticipation for their continued success in the city.
With the announcement of Vista Metals’ new facility, Kentucky’s economy will continue to reap the benefits of industrial growth. Vista Metals’ investment and job creation build on the best four-year period for economic growth in Kentucky’s history, making it a significant milestone.
