In a generous act of commitment to future healthcare professionals, the Med Center Health Foundation has awarded close to $50,000 in scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year, supporting several students with a minimum of $2,100 each. Some scholarships also encompass full tuition and a book allowance.
Amy Hardin, Executive director of the Med Center Health Foundation, asserted the importance of assisting the future generation of healthcare professionals. She expressed the organization’s awareness of its position as a regional healthcare leader and their commitment to being a functional support system for these young professionals.
The scholarships have been instituted to honor or in memory of loved ones associated with Med Center and are intended to provide financial aid to the dependents of current Med Center Health employees, underrepresented populations, and future healthcare professionals.
A clinical research associate at Med Center Health and health administration student at Western Kentucky University, who is a recipient of one of the scholarships, expressed her gratitude towards Med Center Health for their financial support. She pledges to repay this kindness by continuing her career at Med Center Health. Ten students with a healthcare focus attending either WKU or SKYCTC have been chosen for six different scholarships.
In the academic year of 2024-25, the Med Center Health Foundation has divvied up the scholarship fund among several recipients:
