Stretching from McCracken County in the far west to Mason County up north, the annual 400-Mile Sale across Kentucky is once more set to take place from Thursday to Sunday. The event promises an extensive range of yard sales, antiques, collectibles, shopping, and eating opportunities along the historic Highway 68.
As of June 4, the event features 58 registered sales in Warren County and additional sales throughout Kentucky’s sponsored counties. According to the Director of Communications at Visit BGKY, Lauren Guess, every sponsored county will be involved and the sale items available will vary each day.
Embracing her business philosophy of supporting “small businesses and small towns,” Patricia Francis, director of Innov8 Events in Louisville, will host approximately 30 small business vendors at her multi-site sale. Set to happen Friday and Saturday at 1021 Wilkinson Trace in Bowling Green, Francis believes the 400-Mile Sale positively impacts the local economy and communities.
“I always think it’s a positive thing when you bring people into our state…it’s going to bring in money,” Francis noted.
Tara Rhodes-Hall, director of the 400-Mile Sale, referred to Bowling Green as the “springboard” for the sale. She predicts that the stretch from Bowling Green to West Paducah will see tens of thousands of people throughout the four-day event.
“Most people go through Bowling Green when they come to the 400 mile sale because they come up 65 or come down” Interstate 65, Rhodes-Hall explained. “[Bowling Green] probably sees as many people as anybody.”
Apart from Warren County, the sale’s website has registered 87 sales in Logan County and 30 in Barren County as of June 4. Rhodes-Hall revealed that the entire event has close to 750 registered sales and anticipates reaching “maybe 1,200” total registered sales by the event’s conclusion.
